15.–18. Sept. 2025
University Observatory Munich
Europe/Berlin Zeitzone

Building on previous meetings between cosmologists from Cambridge and Munich, this workshop brings together students, postdocs, and faculty to focus on

  • cross-correlation of CMB and galaxy survey data;
  • estimating cosmological parameters using new galaxy cluster catalogues;
  • analytic modelling and simulation-based inference of the cosmic density field;
  • developing and modelling of primordial cosmological observable and related aspects of the early Universe.

The Cambridge-LMU Cosmology Partnership was established in 2017 and is supported by both universities. These workshops provide a platform for discussion, exchange of ideas, and updates on joint research progress. They also offer an excellent opportunity for graduate students and early-career researchers to present short talks.

The event will be held in person at LMU from September 15 to 18. We look forward to seeing you there! Note that the presentations start on the 16th. On the 15th we have time for discussion.

The venue: The Munich Observatory (Universitäts-Sternwarte München), close to the Prinzregentenplatz subway station (U4), see link on map below.

Conference Dinner: Self-Payed at Georgenhof (Tuesday, 19:00 at Georgenhof)

Lunch possibilities:

Transport in Munich: Transport is pretty good in Munich and it shouldn't be hard to move around. You can get week tickets in vending machines you find in the subways (€22.40/week for Zone M). Pay attention you need a especial ticket for the airport (zone 5).

Hotel information: It is just before Oktoberfest time, so the options may be more expensive than usual. Note that the conference starts on Monday afternoon and ends on Thursday morning. Therefore, arriving on Monday and leaving on Thursday may make the hotels cheaper. Also transport in pretty good, in special inside the M-zone.
