Plasma Acceleration in EPAC

durch Dr. Rajeev Pattathil (STFC)

Europe/Berlin
Beschreibung

The Central Laser Facility (CLF) is building a new laser facility - the Extreme Photonics Applications Centre (EPAC) at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK. This will be a state-of-the art facility hosting a 10Hz Petawatt laser driven by CLF’s own Diode Pumping Solid State Laser technology - DiPOLE. EPAC is designed to drive plasma accelerators and exploit the capabilities of laser-driven photon and particle beams in both fundamental science as well as applications. With dedicated capabilities for driving plasma accelerators EPAC is likely to act as a stepping stone towards future plasma accelerator facilities such as EuPRAXIA.  In this talk I will give an update on the design and construction of EPAC.
