Status and future development of laser and lab infrastructure at the Helmholtz Institute Jena

durch Alexander Sävert (Helmholtz Institut Jena)

Europe/Berlin
Beschreibung
In this presentation, current and upcoming high intensity laser systems at the Helmholtz Institute Jena are introduced. The JETi200 and the POLARIS laser have been in operation for quite some time now and have each been used individually in the field of laser particle acceleration and XUV / X-ray generation successfully. An additional laser system was installed just recently and will provide probe laser pulses from the NIR to the MIR spectral range with a few-cycle pulse duration. The new joined target area is now finished and allows a number of new experiments using the unique parameters of all three laser systems. Challenges in terms of temporal and spatial synchronization will be discussed.
