Measuring Distances in the Quantum Gravity Landscape

We propose a notion of distance between vacua in the theory of a scalar field phi with scalar potential V(phi) coupled to gravity. We propose the normalized tension of domain wall connecting the vacua as a physically motivated one, where the normalization is relative to the local energy density. We show this definition reproduces the moduli space distance when the potential is zero as well as the proposed distance in the dS/AdS cases. In the case of large AdS we also obtain the expected exponent of mass versus distance if the mass of the light tower is m ~ sqrt{Lambda} and one extra dimension decompactifying.
